The neighborhood with the most personality. East Nashville is where the city’s creative energy actually lives. Three independent bookstores sit within a mile of each other — The Bookshop, children’s shop Fairytales, and romance shop Slow Burn — alongside the original 2012 flagship of Barista Parlor on Gallatin Ave. The iconic “I Believe in Nashville” mural — the one that survived the March 2020 tornado — is painted on The Basement East. Nashville’s most-decorated dining is on this side of the river. East Nashville is where the city's independent restaurant scene lives — from tiny counter spots to some of the best fine dining in the South. Historic Five Points anchors the neighborhood. The intersection of Woodland, Clearview, and 11th Streets has been an East Nashville landmark since the 1800s. Today it's a compact, walkable stretch: live music (The 5 Spot), classic East Side dining (Treehouse, Edley's Bar-B-Que, Five Points Pizza), cocktails (Reunion, Rosemary & Beauty Queen), coffee (Bongo East), and Shoppes on Fatherland just around the corner. Five Points Jewel sits ten doors from all of it.

Live music is everywhere. East Nashville is where working Nashville musicians actually live, and it plays like it. The Basement East ("The Beast") on Woodland Street books touring acts and local favorites most nights. The 5 Spot is a Nashville institution — Motown Monday is a rite of passage. Skinny Dennis, named Nashville Scene's Best New Honky-Tonk of 2025, brings the Brooklyn honky-tonk vibe to Gallatin Ave. The East Room and Cobra round out the neighborhood's venue scene.

The neighborhood shows up for its own festivals. Tomato Art Fest takes over Five Points every August. The East Nashville Beer Festival, the Music City Hot Chicken Festival, and Music City Half Marathon all run through the neighborhood.

Walking-distance to everything. Five Points, Riverside Village, the Fatherland District, and the Gallatin Avenue corridor are all clusters of restaurants, coffee shops, and bars you can walk between without moving your car. Close to downtown and everywhere else. The Nashville Nest sits just off the East Bank — walkable to Nissan Stadium (~1 mile). Most other properties are ~2-3 miles from Broadway. All of our East Nashville properties are within 10 minutes of Vanderbilt and Music Row, 15 minutes of BNA Airport, and 20 minutes of the Grand Ole Opry. Uber, Lyft, or the pedestrian bridge get you downtown fast.
